• The Present Club House at Jalan Pudu

On 29th December, 1952 notice was given to the Association as the ground on which the Club House was built was required for the building of a new Church.

A Committee which consisted of Dr. J.S. Goonting, L.E. LaBrooy and T.R. Marks was formed to approach Government for a new site to re-erect the Club House. The Annual Report ending the 31st December, 1953 recorded the Association's gratitude to the Government of Selangor and the Kuala Lumpur Municipality and various other officials for the helpful attitude shown and sympathetic consideration extended in allocating the present site in Pudu Road when the Association was faced with the predicament of being "homeless". An appeal was once again made to members for donations and a total sum of $4,337/- was collected apart form donations in kind. The Hon. Treasurer reported in the statement of accounts ending December 1953 that the total cost of the new building at Pudu Road amounted to $21,687/-.

The building was completed in August 1953 and the official opening was performed by Mrs. J.S. Goonting on Saturday, 3rd October, 1953. The opening ceremony was followed by a Gala Dance. Also in the Annual Report of 1953 by the Hon. General Secretary it is recorded:
"To Mr. T.R. Marks, your Vice-President and Chairman of the Building Sub-Committee, must be given full credit for the excellent services rendered before and during the construction period. Coupled with this tribute, the Association's grateful thanks are also due to other members of the building Sub-Committee comprising Dr. J.S. Goonting. Noel Pestana, P.M. D'Almeida, C.A. Eber. M.B.E. and J.P. Ahin".

  • Welfare and Social Activities

Apart from sports, the Association has a history of involvement in various welfare activities, for the benefit of the community and others.

Included in these activities were visits to the Leprosarium at Sungei Buloh, The Children's Cheer Fund Committee organized the Annual Christmas party where poor children of all races were invited.

Members were also on the Board of Hospital Visitors, M.A.P.T.B., Board of Prison Visitors, The Selangor Blood Bank, Traffic Advisory Board, the Municipal and City Advisory Board, the Selangor State Council.

The Annual New Year's Eve Ball has traditionally been the highlight of the Association's activities. It has always been well attended, with conviviality, fun and a spirit of oneness.

  • Community Work

As part of the Association's programme to involve itself in Community Work, a Children's Cheer Fund Committee was formed in August 1970 to organize Cheer Parties for the less fortunate in the country. This Committee was under the Patronage of Y.B. Encik Mohammed Khir Johari, Minister of Commerce and Industry. Up to 1970 some 800 poor children from various Homes and Orphanages were entertained at Cheer Parties held.

Currently the Association continues to assist needy children through its own annual Children's Christmas Parties.

  • Admission of Associate Members

At the Annual General Meeting held on March 29, 1953 the Association's Rules were amended to admit non-Eurasians as Associate Members. We have Malays, Chinese and Indians in the SEA who enjoy all amenities other than voting rights. They are a great source of help to the Association in many respects, and we enjoy their company and goodwill.

  • General

The Eurasians belong to a small Community and most of them are in the middle income group. Like their forefathers before them, many joined the Government Service. Mr A.E. Eberwein J.P., after whom Eberwein Road is named, was for many years attached to the Treasury. Mr. Francis L. De Rozario, after whom Rozario Street is named, was in the Land Office and W.J.B. Ashby was attached to the Sanitary Board, Kuala Lumpur and subsequently transferred to Ipoh as Secretary, Sanitary Board. Ashby Road is named after him.
